Laser Periodontal Procedures - Periodontology Inc., Columbus OH

Another recent development in periodontal treatment is the use of lasers. Drs. Stehle, Tanner, and Hall utilize the Biolase EZLase (940nm diode) to remove or recontour gum tissue.  The diode laser therapy works by targeting only diseased gum, which it discerned by the color. Diseased gums are darker than healthy gums. The laser used in combination with traditional debridement techniques can help to improve the health of gum tissues.

The use of lasers results in less bleeding than with traditional surgical techniques.  Lasers can be used for biopsy of soft tissue lesions and in the management of canker sores, resulting in decreased healing time.  The laser can also be used in minor surgical procedures, such as frenectomies and tooth/implant uncovery.

Due to the ability of the laser to target specific tissue, Drs. Stehle, Tanner, and Hall are able to help restore you to health with minimal post-operative pain or side effects.
